The Fern Hotels & Resorts Expands with New Resort Signing in Deoghar

The Fern Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a new property in Deoghar, further strengthening its presence in Eastern India. The upcoming property, The Fern Resort & Spa Deoghar, reflects the brand’s strategy of expanding into destinations that are witnessing steady tourism growth along with improving infrastructure.
Deoghar has long been known as one of India’s important pilgrimage destinations, but in recent years, the city has also started attracting leisure travelers and experience-driven tourists. This shift has created strong opportunities for premium hospitality brands looking to serve both spiritual and leisure tourism segments.
Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director of The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said that Deoghar is rapidly evolving beyond being only a pilgrimage destination and is emerging as a complete travel hub. He shared that the company sees strong potential for a resort-led hospitality offering in the city, which aligns with the group’s vision of creating immersive stay experiences in culturally rich and growing destinations.
The project is being developed in partnership with Vama Ventures, highlighting the increasing collaboration between established hospitality brands and regional developers. Such partnerships are helping accelerate hotel infrastructure growth across Tier II and Tier III cities in India.
Akash Adukia, Partner at Vama Ventures, said that this collaboration will help introduce a thoughtfully designed resort that enhances Deoghar’s hospitality landscape. He added that the project is planned to offer memorable and enriching experiences for both spiritual visitors and leisure travelers.
The Fern Resort & Spa Deoghar is planned as a 101-key property designed to serve business as well as leisure guests. The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, along with a poolside lounge restaurant and bar, creating a vibrant hospitality experience for both in-house guests and local visitors looking for premium dining and social spaces.
The resort is expected to open in the first half of 2029, showing strong confidence in Deoghar’s long-term tourism and hospitality potential.
This development also reflects a larger industry trend where hotel brands are increasingly focusing on culturally significant yet underdeveloped destinations to create new revenue opportunities and tap into emerging travel demand across India.
