Amazon Now Plans Expansion to 100 Cities Across India

E-commerce giant Amazon has announced a major expansion of its quick commerce service, Amazon Now, aiming to reach 100 cities across India. While the company has not shared an exact timeline for the rollout, the service is currently available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

To support this rapid growth, Amazon plans to strengthen its fulfilment network by setting up more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across the country. This expansion is part of Amazon India’s recently announced investment of Rs 2,800 crore (approximately USD 300 million), focused on improving operations, delivery speed, and customer experience.

Harsh Goyal, Vice President of Everyday Essentials at Amazon India, stated that the company is accelerating its plans to make Amazon Now available in more cities, backed by a strong fulfilment infrastructure. He added that this move will help Amazon serve customers faster while also supporting local businesses and farmers.

The quick commerce expansion is also expected to benefit over 16,000 farmers by giving them access to Amazon’s technology and supply chain network, allowing them to sell fresh produce directly to customers.

Amazon Now is expected to expand to major cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Meerut, Mysore, Panipat, Kochi, Amritsar, Mangalore, and Visakhapatnam, among others.

With this expansion, Amazon is strengthening its position in India’s growing quick commerce market and aiming to meet the increasing demand for faster deliveries across urban and emerging cities.
